“A United Biology”: A Talk with E.O. Wilson

A United Biology is some what dry — too bad because the man has done much for the advancement of biology (well it seems that way, I have never heard of him) — but from what I have read and heard from him, he seems very forward about how biology (and sub-set fields) will ultimately define/teach us about ourselves as biological entities.

We need people like him…lest we will never realize our full potential as humans. Remember, we started as naked pink fleshy animals in a hostile environment (well not exactly started, but @ some point early on it became this way). No claws, no flight, nothing overly protective except our evolved brains. We have come a long way — but before we can begin to ‘hack’ biology — we need prominent biologist with an understanding such as how we as humans are inventing information systems to model biology. E.O. Wilson seems to have that understanding.

We need more people like him…
