Kerry gets support of 48 Nobel-winning scientists
“Unlike previous administrations, Republican and Democratic alike, the Bush administration has ignored unbiased scientific advice in the policy-making that is so important to our collective welfare” - Excerpt from letter by 48 Nobel scientists
Older news — but you have got to admit, this is pretty powerful for those who care about the advancement of science — you could ask:
“What do scientists know about politics (political scientists notwithstanding)?”
Then the answer would have to be:
“As a whole, perhaps not much, but as Nobel leaders in their respective fields, we must trust they know exactly how government policy is affecting their work.”
Yet the question still remains:
“Will a future Kerry administration help in this very important respect or will his advancement of science initiatives remain rhetoric and get washed down the War on Terrorism drain?”
If not said before, let me state the need for a War on Oligophilosophia.
